Job Title: Driver – Salesperson (Unionize role)
Location: New Minas, NS
Type of work: on the road
Schedule: 10 hours per day / 5 days a week (Monday to Friday)
This position reports directly to the Office and Truck Supervisor in New Minas.

CHALLENGES WE OFFER
- Picks up delivery slips and loads product to meet delivery requirements;
- Delivers feed product to customers as per delivery slips. Ensures an efficient delivery schedule is maintained to keep distribution costs to a minimum;
- Ensures that the product, quantity, and price are correct for each customer;
- Shows utmost care to customer’s personal property;
- Collects payment from customers who wish to pay COD for their product and provides them with a receipt;
- Completes a daily report indicating the amounts delivered and the payments collected. Responsible for cash over / shortages;
- Handles complaints within his immediate authority and reports all complaints to his supervisor;
- Obeys all laws and regulations regarding safe driving practices and the loading and unloading of product;
- Maintains vehicle in the best manner possible. Performs daily routine inspections of the truck and equipment. Reports all accidents to supervisor as well as any damage necessitating repairs to his vehicle or customers property;
- Keeps vehicle, uniform, and person in a neat and clean condition;
- Presents an excellent image of the organization at all times;
- Strives to promote excellent customer service, pursues opportunities to gain new customer accounts, and keeps his supervisor informed of all relevant feed related matter in his delivery area;
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
YOU FIT THE FOLLOWING PROFILE
- Physical Effort: Loads and drives a bulk feed truck, making multiple deliveries in rural and urban areas, and lifting or moving up to 60 lbs;
- Must have a Class 1 Drivers Licence (tractor trailer);
- Physical Environment: Works outdoors in all types of weather and driving conditions. This position may also be exposed to elements such as noise, dust, odours, fumes and oils;
- Sensory Attention: Use of specialized delivery equipment, if necessary;
- Frequent customer contact. Overtime/weekends may be required.
