Shift note:
This is an on-site position located in Burlington, Vermont.
10:30 am - 7:00 pm Tuesday-Friday, 7:00 am-3:30 pm every Saturday. Rotating holiday coverage is required.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The position is responsible for providing technical and general support to all users of services in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, this includes organization and non organization MD's, NP's, MA's, PA's, nurses, office staff and all of the other 13 hospitals in VT and several hospitals in NY, NH, ME & MA. Responsibilities include, a general understanding of all laboratory depts. (clinical & anatomical), detailed knowledge in the use of relevant computer applications, including, but not limited to, Misys, Sunquest, Maple, IDX, PICIS, PathLine, LabTrack, Atlas, PRISM, IPADD/OPADD monitor, MayoAccess, data entry into MS Access and creation of spreadsheets in excel for data presentations. They must also have the ability to troubleshoot a wide variety of problems with remote fax, printer and centrifuge devices, utilize troubleshooting tools, the accurate logging of calls, escalation of calls & problems, and coordinate resolution with other lab staff and additional hospital departments. Individuals provide front line support for a large number of applications in a complex technological and clinical environment. Staff must provide support up to 15 hours per day, 7 days a week. Shift coverage on evenings and weekends are required.
EDUCATION:
Associate degree (or equivalent experience) in related field required.
EXPERIENCE:
At least two years of progressively responsible experience in a fast-paced customer service environment, including multi-line phone coverage and extensive computer skills. Experience with medical terminology & MS office also required.
