- Supervises support staff to include approving/disapproving leave requests, conducting performance evaluations, and/or initiating disciplinary action;
- Coordinates all efforts to ensure that new vehicles and motorized equipment received are in compliance with contract specifications;
- Corresponds with vehicle manufacturers on new equipment, delivery schedules, operating manuals, added options/accessories, and invoicing procedures;
- Coordinates the issuing of new vehicle and motorized equipment assets and the exchange of vehicle and motorized equipment assets planned for disposal;
- Updates computer system in order to reflect vehicle acquisitions, dispositions, transfers, and auctioned vehicles;
- Oversees the issuing of vehicle registrations, titles, and license plates for all City vehicles and trailers; works with the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) and department representatives to renew, cancel, and/or transfer license plates and registrations; prepares all related BMV paperwork;
- Coordinates recall notices of vehicles and motorized equipment;
- Prepares special reports, records, vehicle and equipment maintenance schedules, and other documentation as required;
- Ensures that the City obtains full benefits of factory warranties;
- Helps coordinate auction of City equipment planned for disposal;
- Analyzes equipment and vehicle needs and provides budget information;
- Develops utilization and life cycle policies and procedures;
- Works with vendors and department representatives to resolve billing discrepancies related to vehicle and motorized equipment purchases;
- Reviews work orders on a case-by-case basis.
Two (2) years of experience coordinating or maintaining records pertaining to vehicle or motorized equipment maintenance, repairs, acquisition, parts keeping, or servicing.
Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
The names of the applicants passing this administration of this exam will be used to create a NEW, OPEN COMPETITIVE, eligible list for this classification. The examination process will consist of a situational judgement test weighted 15% assessing Oral Comprehension, Oral Expression, Problem Sensitivity, Social Sensitivity, and Resistance to Premature Judgment, a multiple-choice exam weighted 45% assessing Reading Comprehension, Problem Sensitivity, Logic and Reasoning, Information Ordering, and English Usage, Grammar, and Spelling; and a computer skills exam weighted 40% covering Microsoft 2010 Outlook, Word, and Excel, and Data Entry Accuracy.
The exam is expected to be administered in September. Approved applicants will be notified by mail/email of their scheduled test date and time.
All applicants must complete all phases of the testing process in order to receive a final score. The names of all candidates who pass this examination will remain on the eligible list for two years, unless the eligible list is replaced prior to or extended beyond the two years. If a candidate's name is certified and the candidate is to be considered for employment, the hiring process will include one or more interviews, a criminal background check, and a pre-employment drug test.
