Introduction
Our client based in Durban is looking for a Transport Operations Manager to join their team. The successful incumbent will be responsible for managing the supply and performance of transport to home delivery customers.
Duties & Responsibilities
SLA performance management: ensuring that Subbies perform and supply services in line with the business requirement of 98% of the defined requirement of on time deliveries or delivery attempts
Transport forecasting: ensuring that a forecast is supplied to subbies to ensure supply is maintained in line with the service level requirements
Transport capacity supply: ensuring that Subbies supply the quantity of vehicles to supply adequate services in line with the forecast provided, failing which alternate supply of capacity is sourced to ensure supply of delivery services is maintained line with customer requirement
Risk adherence management: ensuring that Subbies supply all risk-based processes and documentation as per company requirements
Weekly subbie meetings: meet and produce weekly reports based on these meetings along with minutes of each meeting
Claims management: managing the claims for stock handed over to subbies
Operational Efficiency reporting: ensuring that the following metrics are measured and managed (with relevant reporting supplied and managed accordingly) such as first-time deliveries by day, redeliveries by day, drops per day, vehicle supply by day, loading time, kilometres driven, collection volumes, data accepted vs consigned volumes by day, dispatch volumes, volumes in the network, On Route execution and on Route compliance
Postal code management: maintaining a list of postal codes that cannot be delivered and supply accordingly to IT to update LMS
Shunting coordination: ensuring that orders are collected on time from the collection points
In house management: ensuring that the onsite processes are adhered to by both customers and staff to ensure that deliveries are collected and executed accordingly
On route adherence: responsible for adoption, conformance and completeness of all deliveries using the OnRoute system
Customer engagement and implementation: implement process with customers and ensure that customers are aligned to company Ecommerce processes.

Matric
Own Vehicle
Experience working on Microsoft Office
Relevant tertiary qualification
Minimum 5 years' experience in a management role/similar position.
Available to be called out at any hour of the day or night to assist with situations
Able to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
