SHES Training Coordinator [Qatar]


 
  • This role coordinates project SHES training in support of the SHES training Lead and EPC Contractor SHES organization.
  • Provides support, direction, guidance and leadership to NFS Onshore PMT as well as to the EPC CONTRACTORS on all SHES Training related matters and provides oversight of the execution of the EPC CONTRACTOR’s Craft Training program.
  • Supports EPC CONTRACTORS in the development, implementation, execution, performance evaluation and measuring, and continual improvement of the SHES Training Program (theory and practical).
  • Provides direct assistance and support to the NFS Onshore PMT Team in championing the Project’s SHES training and Craft competency Program and reports relevant performance metrics and recommendations for improvement on regular basis to ensure that the Site Manager can effectively champion the Craft Training program.
  • The role is a key position, having a significant impact on the success of the NFS Onshore SHES and craft training and competency program by driving the program elements at Management, Supervisor and craft level.
  • This position is involved in the management of the SHES training related tools and techniques (theory and practical) throughout the project duration and collaborates with relevant PMT and CONTRACTOR personnel.
  • This role has key responsibilities for measure the SHES and craft training and competency across all project packages in order to identify possible SHES competency deficiencies early and recommend improvement actions.
  • The position oversees SHES training and SHES competency activities of assigned CONTRACTOR teams and supports CONTRACTOR Craft Supervisors in developing solutions to ineffective SHES and craft training and craft competency.



About this role
  • Supports the Onshore EPC project in all SHES training and competency assurance. SHES competency has a direct impact on the safety, quality and productivity of craft works.
  • Shall be flexible and team-oriented. Act as the key focal point for all SHES training and competency and drive the overall program in coordination with EPC’s.
  • Provides strategic advice and support to the PMT Site Manager and all PMT and EPC Construction Managers as required on all aspects of the implementation of the SHES training and craft competency program.
  • Provides advice and support to the PMT SHES Training Lead and all PMT and EPC SHES Managers as required on all aspects of the implementation of the SHES training and competency program.
  • Oversee the implementation of SHES and craft training strategy, goals and objectives including theoretical training, practical training and craft competency assessment, with support of the Craft Training Champion (NFS Site Manager)
  • Champion on-site craft training performance with CONTRACTORS. Daily attendance of Tool-Box Talks (TBT) and Task Instructions (TI), providing coaching and leadership to CONTRACTOR and its SUBCONTRACTOR Craft Supervisors to ensure these fundamental craft competency tools are utilized effectively in the field.
  • Provide oversight and guidance for CONTRACTOR SHES and craft training and competency programs and reviews and comments on CONTRACTOR’s supporting training documents and tools.
  • Supports the PMT and CONTRACTORS joint audit teams as a subject matter expert (SME) during SHES and craft training and craft competency related audits and performance reviews.
  • Participate in relevant site safety reviews, walkthroughs and compliance inspections at site as required related to craft training and craft competency.
  • Ensure the continual improvement of the CONTRACTOR’s craft training program and prepares craft training related performance reports, charts and trend analyses, and advises on improvement actions and remediation.
  • Provides support and coordination with all Contractor organizations to ensure that the project SHES training program and contractual requirements related to training is fully implemented and complied with.

  • HSE related NVQ Level 5, NEBOSH National/International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, or higher (BSc, PgCert, PgDip, MSc).
  • OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 Lead Auditor.
  • TapRoot® Advanced Root Cause Analysis Team Leader (or similar RCA tool).
  • Minimum of ten (10) years relevant industry HSE experience.
  • International project experience with Tier-1 EPC Contractors or Client, involved in the construction of onshore production facilities (i.e. greenfield and brownfield work).
  • Sound knowledge of the project execution process in large-scale project environments (expenditure >US$ 1 Bn).
